Almost Lost.

I almost lost my iPhone yesterday morning.

I was getting ready to alight from the bus while I realize that my earphone was tangled in between my phone and my bag and I pull hard, the music that was playing got cut off. I thought it was just the earphone got unplugged and didn’t realize my phone actually dropped.

Thanks to the guy who yelled at me when I almost step down from the bus.

Though my phone isn’t new, but I still love it. It is the phone that I used for more than 2 years, the longer ever.

I haven’t think of upgrade to a 3G as it’s sufficient to me. The camera isn’t the best but it surely recorded many parts of my life. The iPod is my best companion while I travel alone, I never own an iPod but until I got my iPhone.

More importantly, it is a gift from MAN, that I treasure a lot.

Go Mobile.

I have recently browse through some blog on my iPhone and notice theirs looks different on mobile version and did a bit of search and found this plugin which is really cool.

5 mins and my blog is now mobile friendly. I don’t have blackberry or other mobile OS to test on, let me know if it looks broken on your mobile phone.

It was fun exploring new thing, may be it’s not too new, but well, still fun.

Break, over.

2 months break from posting a blog here, I have lost a bit and totally didn’t document anything of my life.

During this 2 months, I have tried to look for an alternative of blog, trying to get something handy that I can make notes, document my life and jot down my thoughts. I have tried to install Organizer apps on my iPhone, wrote a few notes, play around it for sometimes and left blank after that.

There was issue on my domain that triggers the thought of stop blogging but apparently it resolved by itself after sometime.

Looking at my archive, I amazed myself of what I have wrote, it’s the recollection of things happened in my life which I certainly can’t remember it all by myself in my memory if I didn’t write it down.

I’m blogging again, but it might be different this time that I’m considering locking down my blog so I know who is reading and I am able to write all my thoughts, carefree.

Happy Holidays.

Drizzle Taipei.

Posted by zoe t in Escapade, MAN and I on December 9th, 2009 |  1 Comment »

It says Shower when we checked the weather of Taipei the day before the departure date. We thought the weather forecast might not be accurate. The moment we landed, there’s light rain, it’s like mist, it don’t make us wet but the rain sprinkled all over us. It’s refreshing sometimes but the wet floor wasn’t too good to walk on. It rained everyday while we’re there. Moody but the rain stopped sporadically.

We landed at the airport and got exchange for NT dollars before headed out to catch the coach to town. There is no MTR connected the airport and Taipei city yet so we took the option to travel in airport transfer coach for NT125 per person.

The trip wasn’t planned in every detail, we have travel guide with us so we started to flip through it when we arrived at Taipei station. We’re still too early from checking in to our hotel so we opted to go to Taiwan Storyland, which is just right opposite Taipei station. It’s a museum that demonstrating the lifestyle of Taiwanese back in 60’s or early than that.

Me and MAN who never lives during those early era doesn’t know how to appreciate the whole storyland, we felt cheated because it’s so small and most of the scene are for display only and no introduction on each of the scene so we took a few pictures and realized that we’ve finished visiting it.

The food in the picture is real, we didn’t plan to eat in there purposely but the entrance ticket of NT280 per person is inclusive of NT150 food coupon so we spent it in the very ancient looking restaurant typically built to match the theme but MAN was feeling not comfortable with the environment, he has a feeling that the food was prepared back in that era and we shouldn’t be taking it. Weird.

We checked in hotel and rest for a while before heading to Shihlin Night market for dinner.

Fried oyster egg, Penang has better one but I guess these is the Taiwanese style so consider not too bad, but I was looking for chili sauce to add to taste but couldn’t find any. The very famous fried chicken chop, I think this is overrated, the flour is thicker than the meat, that’s why it’s so big it’s called XXL fried chicken chop.

The jumbo size sausage is good, Taiwanese sausages have a special taste, it’s the taste in between Chinese sausages and frankfurters, it’s more chewy with slight taste of barbecue, nice. The long waited mixed fruit ice, I tried this on my last visit, it’s nothing but the fresh fruits on top of ice and top with condensed milk, I can make this too, if only I have ice shaving machine.

We saw a lot of people wearing mask with some cartoon or decoration everywhere in Taipei city, MAN too wanted to get one and we got this for NT100, it’s hand drawing that created by a group of fresh graduates from art school. While MAN is checking himself in the mirror when trying on the mask covering his nose and mouth, he has a sudden thought that he can use this as sleeping eye mask, he pulled the mask to cover his eye and check in the mirror again to see if it looks good and … he couldn’t see anything.

So I take this picture of him wearing mask. He is funny.

Enough Of Macau.

SZ Home. Shopped at HK today, bought a leather jacket and a blazer at 20% off. Nice.

Both me and MAN never been to Macau before 2009 and in a year, we have been there 3 times, once in March, once in May and this time is November.

We decided that we have enough of Macau, at least for 2009. I do not know if we are going to plan for another trip there again in next few months, so I don’t make extreme assumption.

The stay in Venetian Macao was a great experience. The luxurious hotel suite, spacious sunken living room, the comfy bed and a bathroom of our SZ bedroom size that decorated mostly in gold. A 3 days 2 nights stay in the palace liked suite is never enough.

Though the classic design of the suite is the one that many dream of but I prefer the contemporary design of the hotel we stayed in Taipei.

High tea at Boca cafe at the Grand Canal Shoppes, a relaxed ambience restaurant that overlooked San Luca Canal watching the gondolas. Dinner at Galo Portuguese restaurant at Rua do Cunha, the food was just average, another Portuguese restaurant O Santo II on the same street is recommended.

MAN was on the phone so I play around and disturbing him, the phone reception was too bad we both sit very close to the window.

This trip was great. We spent most of our time strolling in the grand canal shoppes, lazying in the room and savoring fine food. Everything was so great except a few hundreds that we lost in the casino, we never have luck in gamble.

We were back in SZ at night, unpacked our luggage and packed again for another 5 days in Taipei. Eat, eat and eat trip.

Eat sleep eat sleep.

I’m off work now. Started my vacation week. This is so good.

It’s gonna be an eat sleep eat sleep week from SZ to Macau then HK and Taipei.

We have been browsing through websites, making bookmark in my tour guide manual, circle up the map and emptying my stomach to fill in more food.

We haven’t pack the luggage, haven’t change Taiwan currency, haven’t really plan out the trip, haven’t… but hotel have been booked, it’s a very nice contemporary hotel in Taipei.

MAN just ask me whether we need a visa to visit Taipei, I need to find out now. Oh well.

My Wicked Bro.

I have a bro who is 12 years old younger than me. I was almost 12 when my mum’s having him. So I kind of watching him growing up becoming a big boy.

He has grown up so much that he’s started to worry about me.

bro: You better enjoy your time, you left only half year there.

me: Half year, why half year?

bro: You left only half year before becoming an elderly parturient woman.

me: … *fainted*

I’m not that old, yet.

As planned, MAN and I went HK during weekend. We’re there for the Wine & Dine Festival. We found out this event while browsing through Discoverhongkong.com and thought it would be fun. The entrance was free, the wine pass cost HK150 with one wine glass and 12 wine tasting coupons at any wine kiosk in the event. Each wine tasting is about 40ml. 40ml seems not much, but… but that’s more than enough to make you tipsy.

MAN and I were too stingy so we bought only one wine pass. It’s fortunate we bought only one pass, else we’d have to stay over night there.

Me and MAN enjoy tasting different wines. Though we have only 12 coupons but we actually had more than that because some kiosks are having free wine tasting and doesn’t need a coupon. There were a lot of people and everyone seems to enjoy the event very much. Holding a wine glass wander in the crowd and look for another wine to taste, marvelous.

Apart from varieties of wine, there are also plenty of food kiosks. Hungry MAN can’t wait to chomp on his pizza.

We thought we can drink, we thought 12 glasses aren’t very much, but that night both of us feel a little tipsy at the 10th glass, it must be the reaction of different wine, but the feeling was great.

Cheers.

Let’s Go HK.

SZ. I’m becoming wise for acting as a dumbass. The feeling of caring less about what I used to have made my life so much easier. I have more time to concentrate on my own project now.

MAN and I spent the whole weekend sitting at home. He’s playing the NBA 2K9 on the computer while I watched Korean soap opera until 2am with the TV switched on but no one was watching it.

We didn’t even cook for our meals, we eat out for lunch and brought mcD for dinner, it was fun being a couch potato that trying to lose weight using uZap.

We initially planned to go over to HK for… actually no reason so I keep asking MAN what’s the point of going to HK, so we ended up slept until noon, woke up for lunch and lazying around.

At night, before going to bed, MAN suggested that we go HK next weekend and it’s OK if we don’t have any clue where to go for now, we have 6 whole days to think for some activities. Yeah.

We are not mad but just trying to appreciate the truth that we are living very near to HK, we’ll have to take a whole 3 hours flight to go HK next time when we’re both back to Penang.

So, Let’s go HK.
